Machine translation can be useful when large volumes of content need to be processed quickly, consistently and cost-effectively. However, not every machine translation workflow offers the same level of control, confidentiality or linguistic suitability.

PangeaVox Translation has signed a collaboration agreement with the startup Trad AI and uses a proprietary on-premise pre-translation system. This means that the pre-translation process is carried out locally, not through public online machine translation platforms.

This approach is designed for clients who need the speed of machine translation while keeping sensitive content within a controlled processing environment.

On-premise processing for confidentiality

The key advantage of our machine translation workflow is that pre-translation is performed on-premise. Files are not uploaded to public online translation engines during this stage. This helps protect confidential business, legal, technical and institutional content from unnecessary exposure.

PangeaVox Translation works in collaboration with Trad AI, a startup focused on language technology and AI-assisted translation workflows. Through this collaboration, we use a proprietary pre-translation system that supports secure local processing and controlled multilingual workflows.

Machine translation is most effective when the source text is clear, consistent and well structured. Highly creative, legally binding, reputationally sensitive or publication-ready content may require human translation or MTPE.

How the workflow works

1. Scope review
   We review the language pair, file type, subject matter, volume, confidentiality requirements and intended use of the translated content.
2. File preparation
   The source files are checked and prepared for machine translation. Where needed, OCR or desktop publishing support can be added.
3. On-premise pre-translation
   The content is processed through the proprietary on-premise pre-translation system, without relying on public online translation tools.
4. Optional linguistic review
   Depending on the purpose of the content, the output can be reviewed by professional linguists through MTPE, quality assessment or terminology checks.
5. Final delivery
   The translated or pre-translated files are delivered in the agreed format, with formatting support where required.

Quality depends on content type

Machine translation quality depends on the language pair, subject matter, source text quality, terminology consistency and document structure. It works best with clear, repetitive and well-organised content. Ambiguous wording, poor source files, complex legal language, marketing nuance, humour and culturally sensitive content may require human linguistic intervention.

For this reason, we recommend choosing the workflow according to the final purpose of the text. Internal understanding, draft processing and preliminary multilingual preparation may require machine translation only. Client-facing, legally significant or publication-ready materials usually require MTPE or human translation.
